What is Transmission media? Types of Transmission media.BCA(5 th semester)

Transmission media:-

Transmission media is a Physical path between sender and receiver in a data transfer. It is help to communicate different person at a time in the network system. It can be divided into two parts.

1). Guided Media:- In which user define a solid medium transfer different data from sender to receiver. It main part of physical layer help to transfer data in binary information. There are many types of guided Media. It is depend on cost and time.

a). Twisted pair:-  It is consist of two copper wire most use in telephone. System connect to physical compound by a twissted pair. It can be use for transmitted analog and digital signals.

b). Coaxial cable:-  It is better than twisted pair beacuse it can transfer different data. It is high speed sender to receiver. There are two types of coaxial cable.

  • 10 OHM
  • 75OHM
c). Fiber optics cable:- It is important data transmission mediaeval in current time. It is consist of core wire and glass fibre. It is  work form wide area network and complex internet service.

d). Magnatic area :- it includes floppy, CD, DVD, pen drives and others.

2). Unguided media:-  In unguided media user provide. A electro magnetic wave refers to large transmission data. It is purpose of long distance communication process. Types of unguided Media.

a). Radio waves:- Radio wave are easily create and operate long distance form. Send to many receiver. It can use long distance communication midium for indoor and outdoor process.

b). Micro wave:- It is widely use for telephone communication mobile communication and other communication process. it is many sender and many receiver.

c). Infra-red:-  Infra-red and Milli- miter are widely used for small distance. It is depend on the sender to receiver working need in proper direction.
